FAQ
My car was towed or impounded, how do I get it back?
The Police Department uses three towing companies for passenger vehicles, which are, Jerry's Towing, Miller and Sam's Towing, and Lebo's towing. Contact the department at 717-249-7191 to inquire as to which towing company has your vehicle. You may then contact them and make arrangements to pick it up. Remember, each towing company is slightly different and may require different things.

How do I get a copy of a Police or accident report?
Contact the Police Department at 717-249-7191 during normal business hours. There is a $5 fee for incident reports and a $15 fee for most accident reports.
I want to report a crime but I don't want my name in the report, I understand Police reports are public record, what do I do?
Most Police reports are public record, the only times a request for one will be denied is if the case is still pending investigation and releasing the report will be a detriment to the case as well as some reports that involve juveniles (most of the time the juvenile's name will simply be omitted). If you wish to report a crime to the Police and are a witness who would like to remain anonymous please let the Officer you speak to know this, as they can omit your name from the report if feasible. You may also tell the dispatcher when you call that you wish to remain anonymous. You are not required to give a name if you do not feel comfortable. If you are a victim of a crime your name and information will need to be obtained and will need to be in the report. As the old saying goes "no victim, no crime".
A condition of my employment is that I must be fingerprinted, what do I need to do?
You may want to call before you show up to ensure there is someone on station and available to fingerprint you. Simply bring the print cards that your company supplied you and we will do the printing and return the cards to you. Traditionally these requests are done during normal business hours, however, all Officers on all shifts can help with this task. Please note: this service is restricted to township residents.
Do I need a permit to solicit in the township?

If you have any questions on the wording of this or any other ordinance call the Police Department. The fee for the permit is $50 for one week or $100 for a year.
